Through socialization the child acquires his or her mother tongue and the characteristics of the culture in which he or she was born. Children learn the patterns of behavior accepted by the community, experience the expectations, get acquainted with the values and norms of their family and community. Social interaction plays a key role in almost every area of life. Learning this begins in infancy and accompanies us throughout our lives. For most children, this develops naturally in relation to their interactions with the environment by observing, practicing and then mastering patterns of behavior that are applied depending on the situation. Deficiencies in social competencies or inappropriate application of acquired patterns can cause behavioral problems that even lead to the exclusion of the child and then the family.
