Introduction
Specialists from three countries have joined forces to make early development accessible to more children with atypical development. Within the Erasmus+ project entitled "Developing the skills of children with atypical development through online support", implemented between November 2018 and October 2020, the Rejtett Kincsek Down Association in Nyíregyháza, together with the Centrum Liberta in Kosice and the Caritas Association of the Dioceses of Satu Mare have taken on to develop an innovative system of e-learning modules. The online platform will be accessible in Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak and English.
Hidden Treasures Down Association:
The Hidden Treasures Down Association was created 20 years ago by parents who found it important to share their knowledge and experience with families who also have children with Down-syndrome. Miracle Castle (Csodavár Nyíregyháza) Early Development Centre in Nyíregyháza opened on August 30, 2011 by the association.
The Miracle Castle Early Development Centre tries to help parents who find it important for their children to be able to become the most harmonious people possible, handicapped or otherwise, with advice on parenting and learning about and developing their children’s abilities. Our goal is to provide a chance to physically and mentally handicapped children and youth to be able to be completely or partially integrated into social life.
Miracle Castle Nyíregyháza is the first inclusive development centre and playhouse in Hungary that means this is a place where typical and disabled children can play and develop together. Following the example of Csodavár Nyíregyháza, the first inclusive development center and playhouse in Budapest, Csodavár Budapest opened its doors in 2018, so the Csodavár model is already available for children / their families in the capital. The aim of the association is to ensure the early development of as many affected children as possible in both cities.
The association constantly communicates interactively with the families of children with Down-syndrome, and the association’s Facebook page now has more than 13,000 followers. Also with the aim of properly informing and supporting families in the care of the association, thanks to the support of Erasmus +, a free publication called “Guidebook - for Families with Children with Different Developments” was published, which is the first in Hungary to provide understandable guidance to affected parents. Szatmári Egyházmegyei Caritas Szervezet:
A Szatmári Egyházmegyei Caritas Szervezet 30 éves múlttal rendelkező szociális szolgáltatásokat nyújtó civil szervezet, amely Romániában, Szatmár és Máramaros megye területén fejti ki tevékenységét. A Caritas évente több ezer nehézségekkel küzdő embernek nyújt segítséget. Vállalt küldetését – a szükséget szenvedő személyek támogatását keresztény szellemben, nemzeti, vallási, faji, nemi vagy politikai megkülönböztetés nélkül, figyelembe véve a katolikus keresztény elveket – a változó politikai, gazdasági és társadalmi kontextusban is igyekszik maradéktalanul teljesíteni.
A szervezet által nyújtott szociális szolgáltatások palettája igen széles. A Caritas gyermekek és fiatalok, fogyatékkal élők és idősek számára nyújt szociális szolgáltatásokat, otthonukban látja el a 65 év feletti, krónikus betegségekben szenvedő szépkorúakat, valamint szociális segítséget és támogatást biztosít krízishelyzetben lévő személyeknek és családoknak.
A Szatmári Egyházmegyei Caritas Szervezet égisze alatt jelenleg 25 akkreditált szociális központ működik, melyek 2019-ben 2336 személyt láttak el.
Az edumodul.hu online korai fejlesztő platform létrehozásában, valamint az oktatási anyagok kidolgozásában a Szatmári Egyházmegyei Caritas Szervezet szatmárnémeti Szent József Rehabilitációs Központjának szakemberei is részt vettek.
