From an early age, movement is an important tool for children, in discovering and getting to know the environment. The development and dexterity of this depends on the maturity and practice of the nervous system. Through movement, they discover what their body is capable of, what opportunities it has. Over time, children learn to adapt their actions to the expectations of the environment, making them more and more independent. Through movement, they discover not only the environment, but also their own bodies, which will make them more skilled in learning in school. It is therefore important to create the environmental conditions, for them to be free to try out different movements and for us to support them whenever they get stuck. How skillful children are in movement and above all, in gross motor development, how well-organized they walk, climb stairs, jump or how accurately they aim the goal with the ball, affects their speech, pronunciation clarity, emotional and cognitive development and social skills, whilst these areas also effect movement development. It is most closely related to self-sufficiency, because if a child can climb, walk, he can take the toy he looks for himself, he has a different view of his surroundings.
